Who would I contact at Fender to purchase a single use license to use the Fender Strat headstock on one custom shop build?

My custom orders at Jackson keep getting denied. They won't let me build a custom Strathead, despite the fact that Fender owns them. This also despite the fact that they do build one offs whenever they want. They have always been inconsistent applying any standard when it comes to altering artist sig guitars for custom orders. The order I've been trying to place should be fine considering many facts at hand.

So my question is, does anyone know who at Fender HQ I should speak to regarding the purchase of a one-use license from Fender?

Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, don't get it. Sadly, Jackson doesn't either.

If the guitar is for you and not resale Im sure you can do it as long as you don,t put Fender on it. I don,t think Fender will give you permission for resale even for just 1 guitar.

I think you are missing something in xenophobe's post - if I'm reading it right he wants a custom order from the Jackson Custom Shop with a Strat headstock and they won't make one for him.

My best guess is that outside of the Phil Collen and Adrian Smith signatures Fender wants to not product Strat head Jacksons and only produce Strat head Charvels (and of course Fenders).

I'm not clear from the original post if the "custom build" will be done by Fender or Jackson or someone else.

In any case, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Fender to sell a single use license to a private individual for anything.

BTW, the Technology Support Lab has nothing to do with licenses. They handle software for the various Fender modeling amps.

Fender & Jackson.
Buy two guitars, swap necks.
Keep one.
Sell the other.

This is a job for personal customization :)

Exactly.

I doubt I'll get anywhere with it, but it's worth a shot...

I am really confused if Jackson won't make it why don't you just have Fender Custom Shop make you that one off guitar that you want, they will talk it over with you as to exactly what you want.
Just a thought.

/sigh

I want to order a guitar that is nearly identical to my favorite guitar that I've owned for over a decade. I doubt Fender would build it and even if they did, they wouldn't build it right... I don't want a Fender neck profile, I don't want Fender fretwork, I don't want Fender file work... I don't think Fender actually does file work like this guitar.

This is my '89 Jackson Custom Strathead... it's pretty much the equivalent of a Fender Masterbuilt, the guitar is irreplaceable... from the years 1982 to 2002 they built approximately 60 Jackson branded factory complete strathead builds (according to either Mike Shannon, Tim Wilson or Donny Wade, I forget who guesstimated when they were asked this about a decade ago), this is one of the most unique of them... I just want to build another similar to it, and now that Fender owns Jackson they won't even do it:

I just want them to attempt to build another as nice, they won't do it... I'd pay $4000 for another one built to the same spec, but I want a one-hum rev headstock...

What makes it rare? It's a Shannon build. It's got a matching headstock (I've seen 2 or 3 others with matching headstocks), it's got the small logo (the only one I've seen) and is not routed for a trem cover (also pretty rare). And it's got a thick ebony slab with original Charvel San Dimas type filed rolled edges...(that term is thrown around a lot by everyone but I really mean it here). And it's also an '89. If you tried to order this guitar back then, they would have laughed at you and hung up the phone. But, this guitar did get built, regardless of the unlicensed lawsuit headstock... It has a SD profile, and the new SD guitars have a Fender headstock with Fender volute... this is a Charvel/Jackson headstock profile with a Charvel volute, skunk stripe, 4mm thick ebony slab board, etc....

Look closely at the headstock shape, you'll notice the raduis at the bottom near the ball end is different from Fender, as well as the curve from the ball end to under the Jackson logo... It's a SD Charvel profile neck, not a Fender profile like all the newer Adrian Smith or Phil Collen necks. And no, I don't want a GMW or *other brand*.

I just want to replicate my #1 guitar for the last decade+.
