I have a collection of 11 guitars (Fender, Gibson, and Martin) and am just about to pull the triger on a new Deluxe v Neck 2-color burst. I really like the v neck and the new 2012 Deluxe sound. Hope to get it in a few months. i gravitate to my EC start i bought earlier this year. Here are a few of my most played if this picture post works.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I bought my first (ever) guitar - a Squier Strat - about a week ago, and I'm thrilled.

A little bit about myself: I've played keyboards for about ten years. I love music, most genres from rap to classical, but I especially love the sound of rock guitar. But up till now I've been a little intimidated by the guitar.

To put this in perspective, with a keyboard, pretty much anyone can make a C chord by pressing their fingers on the right keys. But a guitar is different - you've got to put your fingers, not just on the right frets, but also with the right amount of pressure, while simultaneously strumming or picking the appropriate strings with your right hand. A lot tougher, IMHO. And so my respect and admiration for every guitar player, from the kid plucking out Smoke on The Water in his basement, to the bonafide guitar gods, has increased immensely.

On the other hand, I can think of no other instrument that gives you so much versatility and range in creating sound. Through amp set ups, tuning, and playing and fingering techniques you can make a guitar sound like almost anything. And you can infuse your music with an incredible range of feeling and mood.

I doubt I'll ever be a "great", or even "good" guitarist. I've only just graduated from making "noise" to making "sound" with my Strat. Hopefully in a few weeks, given a couple dozen more hours of practice, I'll start to make something resembling "music" with it. And from then its on mastering hammer-ons and pull-offs, slides and chord progressions.

Lastly, I'd like to say "Thanks" to the folks at Fender for making a quality instrument like the Squier Strat available at such a reasonable price. Out of the box it comes with everything you need to learn if the guitar is the right instrument for you, without breaking the bank in the process. And I know that, if and when I'm ready to upgrade my Axe, which brand is going to get my business.
