I'm using a 2012 American Deluxe HSS and about to purchase a Fender Blues Jr III with the cannabis rex upgrade, I was wondering if anyone can suggest some headphones that I can use to plug not only into that bad boy amp and not lose any of it's killer sound, but something I can plug into my MacBook Pro when I am recording in GarageBand.

Price isn't too much of an issue unless it's over $500

Thank in advance, I humbly await the wisdom of the forums!

I have a pair of AKG headphones, I think they cost me $119 about 8 years ago. They sound great. I use them for home recording and listening to music. I recommend them highly.

thanks guys!

I'm a big video/audiophile since my job is in Software Quality Assurance, so I always notice the small stuff and can be overly critical

Can't go wrong with AKG. I've had mine for over 10 years, never had issue with them.

I like my Sennheiser 280 HD headphones, but I think I'm missing something because I have a Blues Jr. III and I don't know where you would plug in headphones.

$@!&... you're right. I was also doing research on some AKG Q701 and K702s... apparently those require a Headphone amp to work in a MacBook... Oi... it just never ends

For some reason I thought all amps came with a headphone jack, I guess just the practice ones do. D'oh

I really like my Sennheiser HD555's, but I'm not sure if they are still being manufactured.
Shure makes a nice headphone for about $100 cdn...SRH440. My son bought a pair and they sound very good. What he and I particularly liked in addition to the good sound, was the detachable cable. Easy fix if you damage the original cable.

I'm still using the Audio Technica M40fs headphones I bought 12 years ago - superb sounding things, and can be picked up a lot cheaper now as they've been superseded by the M50, which I imagine are equally spiffy.

They're not completely flat response studio monitoring headphones, but they have a certain way of making you feel like you're listening to a large speaker in the room rather than something strapped to your noggin, which makes them rather pleasant for guitar usage.

You can ask an electrician to do a headphone jack output on your blues jr. You have to make a bridge and a optional switch that will disconect the speaker and send a stereo signal to the jack output.

I just bought my first headphones about two weeks ago so I am no expert by any means. I bought the beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 OHM and really enjoy the sound quality and volume. Here's one link where you can check them out.
