Hi. I just looked on eBay and saw several.
Read up on the pickups, nut, tuners, bridge,
potentiometers, etc.

Are you making one yourself? Topppscore :)

Are you going to chop down a tree and cut the body & neck?
or buy a pre-made neck, body & fretboard?
if so, what products have your decided to buy?

I have a 1996 American Buddy Guy Strat (no custom shop).
It can't get any better than that, custom shop or not!

Mid boost, master TBX control, Lace Sensor Golds, ash body, maple neck with medium V-shape.

Continously fighting with my white 1986 US strat for #1 position (even though you can hardly compare them, they're too different). I'd say they're both equally my #1s, depending on what I'm playing.

Fantastic axe!!!!! Pretty rare in blonde nowadays. You get US sunbursts and the not comparable Mexican Polka Dots today.

Holy Cow, Smokin'
That is a HOT HOT HOT Axe. I like it.
Is that a factory production or did you do modifications?
Did not know Buddy Guy used Lace Sensors,
but shoulda known if Clapton did, Buddy did

We all know about Fender shipping Lace Sensors as standard pickups
for the 1987-1999 Stratocaster Plus Deluxe Ultra Series.

I believe that Fender may have shipped Lace Sensors on American Standard Stratocastes
for one or two years, around the 1990 year.

So, does that make your guitar with non-factory installed Lace Sensors?
What is your beautiful Strat's story?

Man. I have never searched for Buddy Guy Stratocasters.
Is that a real or facsimile autograph on your head stock?
I cannot find any 1996 Buddy Guy Strats

Here is a 1995 with a "claim" as 50th Anniversary:

Here is a BEAUTIFUL 1995 Honey Blonde FENDER BUDDY GUY SIGNATURE GUITAR (50th ANNIVERSARY TOO!)w/ORIGINAL CASE in MINT CONDITION!!!!

Hey, Fender was not around in 1945. Maybe it is a 40th Anniversary model.
What do you think?

Don't want to hijack the thread but let me quickly answer your questions:

These US Buddy Guy Signatures were a short run in the mid 90s (mine has an N6xxx serial).
The strat is all stock, no modifications whatsoever.

The signature is a factory print by Fender since this is an official signature guitar.

If you google "1996 American Fender Buddy Guy Signature Strat" and go to pictures, you can find a few similar pics. As I said, the blonde model is rarely seen nowadays.
There was only ONE on German *bay during the past 4 years and that's mine! I was happy enough to win the auction.

Sound samples here, recorded with internal digi cam mike but it gives at least an idea of the sound (worked pretty good, actually):

quickly improvised blues stuff with pretty clean sound (including mistakes, ha ha ha):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMMOoskNzkw

Some heavier gain settings, improvised on the go (also some mistakes in there but what the heck...):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDbj1rDKj2Q

Sounds much, much better over a properly miked tube amp. I hope to find the time to get some new videos done with my Hughes & Kettner Statesman half stack in the near future...

This model has been discontinued since 2 years ago (the polka dot has been dropped from the pricelist yesteryear). Buddy's actual Strat is totally different than the defunct Artist signature guitars (USA and MIM).

But the MiM and USA sunbursts are still in stores and available.

Gotta say. I am absolutely NOT a blonde or stain or natural wood or sunburst fan.
But, your guitar is STRIKINGLY good looking & attractive. I would take that in a Jack Flash second

Five of my current eleven guitars are Sunburst'd, but that issue was outweighed by other
features. My original 1971 Sunburst Stratocaster and 1978 Blonde Stain Telecaster
were sold this year. Honestly, I'm surprised how nice your BGuy Strat is. Congratulations.

Your shreddng video is nice. Same amp as the first blues video?

Hi, Chromeface!
The BGuy Strats on EBay are mostly new with polka dots.

Also, did Fender ship any "non-signed" Buddy Guy Strats
or are all signed with the fascimile head-stock signature.
Thanks. Toppscore :)

Hi, Smokin'

One of my projects is to buy all of the parts and build an axe.
Is it possible to get a parts list of your Fender Stratocaster Model?
Paint color, blonde stain, electronics, bridge, tremolo, pickguard color, tuners, etc.
Also, are the Lace Sensor pickups special for the Buddy Guy Fender model?
Any other parts besides the signature unique to the BGuy Strat model?

Thanks. Toppscore 8)
