I like me some nice streaks in natural wood when appropriate.

Sometimes streaks are indicative of a bit of wood that shouldn't be used in the guitar being used - brown spots in maple around where knots were for example - but on darker woods, it is usually just a standard variation. Depending on the color, you may find that some pieces are more dense than others, so a streaky piece may have a different tone, but it is hard to say without seeing it. I've found this to be true with ebony - the streaky pieces seem a bit brighter, and like to break bits in the fret slots faster. :)

The current trend these days seems to be that people prefer some grain character over a flat appearance, so I'd say if you find it attractive, it'll probably help resale rather than hurt it.

Streaks in your underwear however should be avoided.

Thanks, Funky.
Please, NO FUNKY Skid Mark Streaks in your underwear. Keep them on

But, per the comments, thanks for the info.
I never gave it a thought.
I have some maple/ebony necked guitars and will now be conscious about it.
Take care. Toppscore :)

Personally I love the streaks in Rosewood. I have never really noticed any issues with them as far as being too soft. I had one guitar that had wild light streaks in the Rosewood but can not locate the picture right now. Was just gorgeous!
