I have a set neck telecaster and I am looking at getting a fender showmaster set neck strat. I really only need it for the tremelo and was wondering what people here who own a showmaster think of them. Thanks!

Hi,

It's that guitar you're talking about?

Here are front and back shots of my Showmaster:

You'll notice that mine has the original set of Seymour-Duncan humbuckers in it, solid mahogany body with the wild maple veneer top. The trem works very well and stays in tune. The Showmaster is a rocker!

I had one like that (MIK) in Aztec Gold. Cool guitar.

I never heard of one. What years were they made?
With 24 frets, they must have moved the bridge and bridge pickup closer to the neck. Or, did they move the neck pickup down a little toward the bridge?

Showmasters were produced for about 11 years; the series was discontinued in 2009.

I have one w/SD Pearly Gates, black chrome, they also came w/locking tuners, and mine has a quilt top of what must be exhibition grade (looks 3D). Beautiful guitar, and plays well.

USA Showmasters usually came with a Duncan Trembucker and two Fat 50s single coils. These CS guitars came with a variety of bridges and a 22-fret neck with abalone dots. Some were fitted with a deluxe locking tremelo while others featured a tunamatic bridge and dual SD humbuckers.

Only the Team Built one offs sported the original Floyd Rose locking tremelo.

Mine was made in Korea and has the standard trem system, smoked hardware and the nice locking tuners, too.

cool guitar pics guys! I waited a couple of months but bit the bullet and my showmaster is on the way. if it plays anything like my spalted maple telecaster its gonna be another great axe! I lost out on a couple of Carvin DC 400's that I really liked the look of before finally buying the Fender.
