Why was the montego black american deluxe strat discontinued ? I have one with the gold scratch plate and it looks gorgeous, all I need now is the ability to play it !

Probably because that color was not a big seller.

That one is cool, I also liked the candy apple red AmDeluxe v neck with gold pg. Very cool series.

That color, was probably my favorite out of all the colors in the Deluxe model. Figures they would discontinue it. Especially looks good with the maple fingerboard. Makes the black and gold really pop out.

I have a Montego black with gold. I got it for a good price, but hated the colors. Now that I've had it a while I guess I got more fond of it and actually like it. I don't worry much about looks, as long as it plays and sounds the way I want it to.
