Hi guys-

I have a Custom Classic Strat. I don't think they make it anymore.

It has a snap in whammy bar, not the usual screw in type.

If memory serves, when the guitar was new, the bar would hold in place after being snapped in.

The guitar is 5 years old. Now it seems like the bar drops an inch or two after snapping it in. Kind of a pain when you alternate between using it and not using it.

I guessing it has worn a bit. Is there anything I can do to tighten it up, short of replacing the bridge, which I would rather not do if I can avoid it?

Thanks!

:)    :|

Yes, there should be an adjustment screw so you can set it as tight or loose as you want. I believe you can get to it by taking off the back cover plate. Good luck!

Yeah, there is. A little further searching and I found that out. You get to it by pushing the whammy bar down, not by removing the back plate. Thanks!
