Hi all,

There are a bunch of left hand fsr 2011's on ebay. I'm thinking of buying one. I believe the paint jobs are different but are there other differences to the american standard ?

I'm looking at maple.

I have to say, and I know I'm preaching to the converted, but I do love playing my rosewood '95. The pots are disappointing, but historically I've not gotten excited about rosewood boards. The strat is bright, has buckets of attack (In fact it's quite unforgiving) and of course comfortable and versatile. 95's are not as highly regarded as some other years but this has been a surprise.

Anyway grateful for any info on the fsr.

Typically, a FSR just has a special color body, maybe different pick guard and covers, and sometimes different pups. Other than that, they are pretty much the same as the regular models.

And they are limited to 550 max.

Cheers,

Thank you for the replies.

So is there any way of telling if the pickups are different ? I'm specifically interested in the maple/surf green and the maple/burst guitars.

Is this documented anywhere ? I always try to search before I ask on the forum but I seem to be hopeless at it.

Thank you again for your trouble.

From what I see Fender made a FSR American Standard in Mercedes Blue with Texas Special pickups and staggered lockers. Gorgeous! Reminded me the so-called "Hyde Park" Strat Eric Clapton played at the Prince's Trust concert in June 29, 1996.
