A Damn shame. I agree.
Luckily I forgot about it lying in my folks basement or I probably would have sold it for beer money when I was young and dumb. Bonnie (name I gave the guitar) sounds silky smooth after she was set up.

I'm assuming the color is called Sunburst I emailed Fender but have yet to hear back.

I have this guitar! my parents bot it for my 16 bday. I wil b 48 on oct 25, 2013. I turned 16 on oct 25, 1981. I hav a black hardtail stratocaster with a maple neck. the serial # on it is E206584. I never really lernd how to play it very well but my kid sure is picking it up quick :) I once took it in to guitar center to have it appraised but the stupid guy sed it was just a standard strat. he sed he would give me $200 for it. in my mind i told him to F off. im glad i kept it. it never really sounded good at all. but i just watched a video on youtube on how to tune it. i only tuned it part of the way. it sound AWSOME now!!! I cant wait til i finish fine tuning it. I gave my kid a gibson les paul. but that is one sound. this strat has a great sound of its own. I plan on giving her this guitar too which means a lot to me since my mom just passed away just after fathers day :.(..

I WOULDNT SELL THIS GUITAR FOR THE WORLD!
