Hey Guys,

I've been modding my MIM strat for a long time now, switching out pups and electronics regularly. But now, it randomly stops transmitting through the amp. I have no idea where this is coming from. Please help!

Thanks in Advance,
Tommy

You probably have a poor solder joint somewhere, or maybe you have fried the pickup selector switch.

Thats what I was afraid of. I bought a complete harness with selector and I'm thinking that I have burned out something. The initial issue seemed to be of the grounding variety, because the hum is substantial when just sitting there but all but disappears when I put my hand on the strings. I grounded to the mounting claw and the grounding coming from the selector and tone to the volume was shoddy at best. I replaced most of the soldering joints that looked shoddy, but when I replaced the joints on the volume pot and was worried that maybe I had damaged it. Some solder flowed into the open portion along the bottom edge of the volume pot. Will this cause any issues?

Thanks again,
Tommy
