I read through this: http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... etup-guide

So, the Deluxe I bought from the shop seems completely setup, I am judging this by the fact it plays great, sounds great, etc,. however, I am curious if they just took it out the box, slapped it on the rack and I'm more of a noob than I realize and can't tell the difference.

Can anyone give some identifiers(I'm currently searching Google) on whether or not a guitar is setup incorrectly or not setup at all?

Thanks in advance! :D

If the action suits you and you cannot find any dead spots on the fretboard, particularly when bending, then all that is left is to double check the intonation and you should be done as far as basic setup goes. There are other nit-picky considerations I will address as well but most people stop there and are quite happy.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Well, if you read through the setup guide and haven't found any differences, then you're ready to go.

Some players have certain preferences, like strig height, tremolo action, pickup height etc...so their setup might differ from what the guide says.

If it feels great, plays great and sounds great to you, don't worry about it.

I agree with BMW-KTM, his steps are also my first steps to check.
