I am heading to GC tomorrow night after work to buy a Black Blacktop Strat HH. My first electric guitar! I cannot wait! I like the look of the maple and the rosewood necks. Is there any difference in wear, maintenance and playability? All help is appreciated! Thanks!

Can't give opinion of Maple vs Rosewood except all previous guitars were rosewood and what I'm used to. No regrets on buying the Blacktop Strat, does everything I need and even matches my not too thin shape pretty well too.

Bottom line is both are guaranteed for life by Fender.
I have mostly Rosewood by choice and Maple on occasion.
Really, when the lights are out, who cares.
Some "claim" one is better, but Alvin Lee sounds good on both

I had planned to get the Blacktop tonight, but work obligations saying otherwise. First things first. Thank you both for the fast response; I really like this forum!

It is good to hear that others like how the Blacktop plays and tone. Also, how it looks. I have an acoustic (Kingman 10) with a rosewood neck and do like the look and feel. Saturday is the big day! Thanks again!

Your welcome. But, play them both, even exact looking guitars can
be different sounding in a variety of ways. Happy strumming. Toppscore 8)
