found another deal on CL. Guy was selling a mex strat project, made contact and went to see what the deal was. So for $100 I got a stripped to bare wood body, a neck thats in ok shape(95 mex)...now the good stuff, all brand new still in the wrappers...Fender locking tuners complete set, pick guard, 2 tone pots, 1 volume pot, knobs, 5 way switch, vintage style bridge, and set of texmex pickups. SCORE! Couldn't believe it, felt like my lucky day, so I played the lottery on the way home, maybe tonight my luck will continue!

GC has them for 74.99 right now, haven't added up what store cost would have been, but way more than my investment.Vintage 6 point bridge is over $100 from looking around. It bas a box'o'stratocaster thats for sure. I will lay it all out and photograph as I go.

Since it's down to bare wood you may consider a natural finish if the wood looks nice enough. Sounds like you made a good score. I'd like to know more details about the neck and why you say it's in OK shape.

The nice thing about partscasters is that it's what you make of it. It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks since it's your creation. Whatever makes you happy with looks and performance is all that matters.

I will be watching this thread since this is something I've wanted to do but have not the money to spare for this kind of fun.

+1
Thinking about my remaining ten Strat/Fender guitars, six have original Fender parts
and five are totally modified. The remaining four are totally Strat looking Warmoth typy
partscasters. Made the way you like them.
Goodluck. Toppscore :)

I already have 2 other partial strats, Im already planning on using the body and neck off these with the new parts. I'll probably finish off the other one with other parts I have laying around and give it to my sone. He started guitar lessons this year with an acoustic student guitar, so that will be a good first electric for him to beat up. the neck is decent, but it looks like when someone tried to take the bobbins out for the tuners they beat up the holes a bit, the frets are ok. Definately useable, but I have way nicer necks laying around. the box of parts to me is great, the lumber was just a bonus. It will make a nice project for me and the boy. I'll take some pics when I get more than a few moments of down time, I work overnights thursday thru Sunday, so this is my busy time of the week. I promise more to come.

So heres the box o strat I picked up. Decided to use the new parts on a black strat project I already had, and will save the neck and bare body for another day.

Hey! Way to go.
Arnold. Are any parts/components/pieces out of the normal?
Super custom additions?

Did not notice anything missing.
Wondering if there are "locking this" or "custom that"
or "switchable extras" or "brass this" or "Floyd that"
. . . . . just wondering . . . .
