I like the Tex-Mex pickups, which is why they are still in my American Standard.

I purchased a 2008 MIM Fat Strat that had it's HSS changed:

Pickups:
* Bridge: Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker (original was Tex-Mex Fat Strat Humbucker)
* Middle: Seymour Duncan Classic Stack Plus (original was Tex-Mex Flat Pole Single Coil)
* Neck: Seymour Duncan Vintage Hot Stack (original was Tex-Mex Flat Pole Single Coil)

The seller shipped the set of Tex-Mex Fat Strat pickups.
Now I need a neck & body to hear what they sound like

Nice Strat. Can you tell it has better resonance or thinner finish/paint?
Would you buy this Strat again or recommend it others?

Really I cant tell the difference, but I am a PRS guy, and this baby has nothing to feel bad about. I think is a matter of taste, and I definitely recommend it to any one

But But But But . . . . . you clearly stated Fedner was saving
money and materials with the thinner paint & thinner finish.

Would it be a better guitar or sound better with more coats of
paint or finsh or both? At least more ding & dent proof?

Hi there just joined the forum & was wondering if it was common for serials to change midway through the year as my blizzard pearl standard with pre 2012 specs has a US1217**** number. Thanks

Aside from changing to the fat 50's from Alnico V's in 2012, didn't They also switch from the 9'5" Modern C neck to the compound radius neck?

Nope. Compound radius neck on the Deluxe and the Select, but the 2012 American Standard still has the Modern C.

Yes because the 2012 Spec didn't come out at the very start of the year, so there are 2012 dated instruments with the old spec. It's also common for 2012 instruments to have 2011 dates. For example my Select Strat has a 2011 date despite the fact that they weren't officially released until 2012 (obviously they have to manufacture them prior to the official release date so that they have a stock to ship to dealers).

....and welcome to the forum.
