Hi all, this is my first post. I have an older Fender Squier strat, Korean model serial number s 965653. Is this one of the better models? It needs a few things done to it ie new pick ups, top nut, tone pots etc. I was wondering how much to spend on it with regards to currant worth? I have seen complete pickup assemblies with tone/volume and wiring on Ebay but not sure on whats best for guitar. Any help would be appreicated. Gazza.

There were Squiers made back in the 80's in Korea. The Japanese models are most sought after as were the Mexican and (very rare), American made Squiers. There was a transition period from the Mid 80's to the early 90's in which you may find these examples. In retrospect, if you have a pre 1990 Squier and paid less than $250 for it, you got one killer guitar! The S S/N Squier were made in Korea at the Samick factory (where the Samick brand is now produced with no affiliation with Fender)

You have to load them on a website like photobucket and insert the link on here. Should be a IMG link...

Also knobs must be aftermarket surely but they were on it when i bought it from my then guitar teacher. They are glued on i think as pretty secure. No tremlo arm as its threaded long ago!
