I have a 2008 3 tone sunburst Custom Classic and I don't know if the paint finish is nitrocellulose or polyurethane. Can anyone help me out?

A little more info and a pic or two would sure help. I think the Custom Classics ran from 99-08 and it should have a two point trem, 22 frets, custom shop headstock logo, three white single coils and is similar to the American Standard Strat (except for the CS headstock logo). That was all the info I could find.

Send the serial number to consumerrelations@fender.com and see what they can tell you or see if anyone on the Custom Shop forum can give you any more info.

Should be finished in nitro.

As far as I know the Custom Shop is still making Custom Classics, perhaps someone on the forum more clued-up on the subject than me can confirm or otherwise.

- Edit -

At least: I HOPE the Custom Classics are still being made, or at least were still being made more recently than other members on this forum say (2009?) because I've got a Fender Custom Shop Strat, the Custom Shop COA says "Custom Classic Stratocaster" manufactured 01/27/11, serial number CZ5#####.

Mine's a 2005 Custom Classic, Tranparent Cobalt. They're definitely nitro.

I'm not sure when they stopped production but they were replaced by the Custom Deluxe which has locking tuners and I think Texas Specials.

Goodonya ...Mark.
