This guy I bought it from bought it from someone else a few years ago. I guess it depreciated as it changed hands.

After mulling over redressing the frets I decided to just swap necks for now and try it out. I only have one string which needs to have the saddle adjusted and that's it. It seems this guitar was just waiting for this neck to show up. I love the slightly warmer tone of this neck and the feel is really nice. I will do a fret job on it eventually but right now I'm OK with it. Time to play!

PS The candy apple red just doesn't show up very well in pictures.

I also think it looks much better with the Stevie neck! Rosewood goes very well with CAR.

It's a Pau Ferro fretboard but I agree with you liking the darker neck. I played it a lot last night and for some reason just love it so much more than I loved it before. Maybe it's just good Mojo, who knows. It got me to look at my Agile Tele and flip the control plate around. I'm glad I finally did that since I was always hitting the freaking pup switch.

I wasn't sure if to post my concerns or not because I'm not sure and I'm not familiar with all the SRV signature necks.
The headstock with the decal looks strange to me.
I don't want to raise any panic but the decal looks misplaced to me.
The signature should run much closer through the center of the round shape of the headstock end and I have never seen a Fender logo decal THAT clearly on an SRV signature neck.

As far as I know, they're all UNDER the finish and you don't see the surrounding of the actual Fender fonts that clearly.

Are you sure it's genuine? Just asking for personal interest, not to raise any fright, please don't get me wrong.
I know that your tuners are not original.

Here's a picture of my SRV neck (maybe mine is fake, ha ha ha. Others I've seen online looked exactly as mine, though)

You raise good questions. I do know the tuners aren't original and see that they are worth more than what I paid for the whole neck. The neck in general seems of great quality to me to the point of not doubting it's genuine but I do not know for sure. I haven't handled enough Fender necks to know. I'll take some better pictures soon and hopefully we can resolve this as I am curious even though I'm happy with the neck so far.

Thanks

Arc

Did you pull the neck off and look at the heel?

After spending too much time looking into this I have found out a few things.

First, it seems the Fender logo decal can be misplaced by a lot.
Second, the signature on this is most definitely under the finish.
Third, Other SRV necks I have seen have the same sort of definition of what appears to be a thicker decal for the logo.
Fourth, I saw other necks with similar bar code stickers on the neck heel.

Here is an SRV neck with the sig close to the tuners. You can also make out the decal edges on the logo.

I feel I have the real deal now. Time to play!
