Hi!

I saw a Stratocaster labelled as 60s Classic Player in CAR in a local music store yesterday (Made in Mexico, SERIAL MX11 so it must be recent production), the funny thing was that it had a neck that look like Bird's Eye Maple or comparable. I tried to find a guitar like this on the internet but could only find it with regular maple necks.

Does anybody have a clue if this could be a special run or something?

I am thinking about buying it so help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Welcome,

sometimes it just happens...if you like the look buy it, you won´t find another one soon.
It´s just the look, some of them are less stable than normal necks, check it.

Cheers,
Robin

It's just a neck that was made out of some wood... Happens that you were lucky to find one that has some birds eye in it... (Which by the way, is a beautiful grain of wood, but very unstable)

Was this just on the back since there should have been a Rosewood finger board. We have seen this before not that common but sometimes someone gets a beautiful looking neck.

The all maple neck on my AVRI 52 Tele is a very nice flame maple. Not over the top, but just right to me. :D

Was skeptical at first until I saw your post that it does indeed have a rosewood cap. Sounds like you found one with a neck with some unique qualities. I love my 60's CP if the price is right, and the feel is right, go for it!

thanks everyone for the infos.
still have to consider if i want this guitar, CAR would not be my first choice on the other hand the neck is beautiful and overall the guitar is beautiful.

short question again: what do you mean with that birds eye might not be so stable? regarding tuning?
