I've recently noticed that my Highway One Strat, that's fitted with a JB Jr. on the bridge, is not giving me a loud enough tone. I have the tremolo floating a wee bit and I'm using .009 (lightest string gauge). For example, I have a Gibson Nighthawk, and whenever I turn it to full volume, it gives a clear and loud tone, but for some reason, on every pickup of my Highway One Stratocaster, it seems to be holding back. It sounds brittle and somewhat "powdery" Its volume is not loud enough and sounds a bit weak. Do remember that my trem is floating and I am using very light gauge strings. The reason why I mentioned the JB Jr. was because when my tech installed it, the combo of the middle and bridge pickup was screwy, like the tones didn't match. Does anyone know the reason why my guitar is not giving the tones that I expect?

Sounds like the tech did not get it done right. Take it back and have him fix it.

I'm sure you checked the pickups' height.

I have checked the pickup height, and it seems to be okay. It could've been my tech. Thanks for your replies.
