I've had several stratocasters over the past couple years.

I had:
Fender Deluxe Roadhouse with maple fretboard, Texas Specials
Fender Deluxe Lonestar with a rosewood fretboard, Seymour Duncan Pearly gates/ Texas Specials
Fender Deluxe Roadhouse/Lonestar Hybrid (Rosewood Fretboard, SSS Texas Specials)
Fender Tex-Mex with Tex-Mex pickups.
Fender Classic Player 60's Strat with Custom Shop Abbigail Ybrarra '69 Pickups
Fender Classic Series 50's Strat with stock pickups
Fender American Standard Strat with Texas Specials.

I've bought and sold them in the hopes of finally getting an American Standard, for which I did....

All of those have been fantastic guitars, a few I should of never let go. I only have the Am Strat now with Texas Specials. While I love the tone of the guitar, the low pole peice on the high E and B really bugs me. I had the issue with my Lonestar and Hybrid strats as well as my American Standard. I come to the conculsion that the Texas Specials have a flaw in which I don't think SRV would have appreciated. When doing a bend on the high E while in the neck position, the string is hovering above the B string pole piece. That pole is the lowest and therefore has the least magnetic pull/output. This is causing the high E string to be very quiet in comparison to other strings on the pickup. I've decided to remove the pickups and swap them for the Dimarzio Area set. A friend has them in his SRV strat and loves them. He's selling the strat and wants TS to be put back in them. So, we're doing a swap. Pickup retail for nearly the same price, so it's a good deal.

Anyone else experiece this problem? I have not noticed that issue on any other pickup I've used.

SRV used an extraordinarily heavy string set and he played through real amps with their mojo and vibe controls dimed. I doubt that this was an issue for him.

I have never noticed an audible drop in volume from it.

I played through hand wired vintage spec tube amps, all Fender designed such as a Deluxe Reverb, Tweed Deluxe, and Princeton Reverb...

I've used Ernie Ball Slinky 10's on everyone of my guitars except the tex-mex which had 9's...

So which amp are you playing that AmStd through?

I play my strat through a Fender Blues Jr. (Bill M modded) and a Princeton Reverb Handwired Clone. I've also played it through a Peavey Delta Blues 1x15 and my friends Deluxe Reverb Handwired Clone. There are no modeling, solid state amps used at my home...

And you tried adjusting pup height as well?
Bringing the pup closer to the higher strings while leaving the pup for the lower strings alone.

Sure have... If you've looked at the Texas Specials, you'll see the G String pole is the highest in the group. Adjusting the low or high end of the pickup doesn't matter, the G will still be higher.

No, I don't own a set.
But I thought the problem was the Hi "E" bend to the "B" position??
What would the "G" have to do with it?

Just raise the high E side by a full screw turn. Then listen to it.

AS I mentioned before I'd raise the pup height on the Hi E side on all pups.
Give that a try.

+1. Common sense.
