I'm a new guitar player having only played about 7 months. Started with just a Yamaha Pacifica and decided to upgrade and got a really good deal on Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe. Even though I always wanted to play a Strat I went for the LP and I love it.

But now I have come across what I think is a great deal on a 1995 Fender Stratocaster Special. It is serial # mn534769. It seems in great shape (from the pictures) and I am probably going to go look at it in the next couple days.

Is there anything that I should know about this particular model? Was it great? Was it junk? Any insights from you Strat experts would be appreciated.

Send the Serial Number to Fender's Customer Service Group. From the S/N it just a Mexican Strat. Not sure what makes it special, but in the early to mid 90's, those strats were made really, really well. You should like the look and feel of the neck when you see it. As far as value goes, I wouldn't expect more than $300 for the guitar depending on condition of the body and the frets.
