anyways to shaspar,
take a piece of paper and write both guitars down. then go through and list every pro and conn you can think of over a few days.
( its your opinions that matter anyways)

then tally them up and pick the one with the most pros and least cons
thats what i do  well that or buy them both ahahahahah

I mean, the quality of the wood of the hot rod deluxe is better than that? or is it cheaper?

wood quality and hardware is the same. both are alder and maple ( unless you get the ash deluxe) and made in the usa. they are so close in price there is really no quality difference. but overall the build quality is about equal.
you just cant go wrong with either, its all up to preference.

I know it is frustrating making a decision with this price tag, especially with no hands on evaluation. BUT seeing as how uncommon they are in your part of the world you may not lose much money if you decide you do not like it.

Thanks for everything bizarre, the tuners of the RI hot rod are cheap? i mean, between the locking tuners i think the deluxe is better.

I'd like to chat with you if you want MP your email

again its all preference, the tuners on the hot rod are sturdy though. and i actually prefer them over locking, but i am old school with that. the locking tuners are more stable over time but there are also more moving parts to damage. especially if you repeatedly over tighten the locking nut.

overall there is nothing cheaper in quality on either model though.

Sorry for the questions mates, but I'm very indecisive, I want the vintage, but I don't know if the neck is going to be as comfortable as a compound radius.

Well, I'd like to give my 2 cents.
Most of the tones that make David gilmour famous would probably
Come from pedals.
With the right combo amp pedals, you could probably get pretty
close tonewise.
Now, I had a am deluxe vneck 2tone SB with scn's(pretty damn good)
And have the avri HR 57 Strat. When it came down putting one in
the chopping block, I kept the hr57, IMHO I loved the feel,
tone felt balanced and the scn on the hr 57 sounded a little
Diff.
I personally love the avri series, HR or not.
My choice is the HR or avri any day of the week.
Ps I've tried the new deluxe, I take the scn's over the new
noiseless any day of the week.

shaspar - sorry I didn't get back to this yesterday. What I meant by my post is what others have said: there really isn't a difference in wood quality between the American Deluxes and the AVs/HRs. The price difference is pretty small, and as I said in my earlier post most of that is from the cost of doing the thin nitro finish.

I'll agree with somebizarredude that the vintage tuners are fine - Fender uses nice Gotoh-made Kluson-style tuners on the AVs/HRs. I also prefer them - my order of preference is vintage tuners (or at least split-post), then locking, then regular tuners last. After years of having the split-posts I can restring them up just about as quickly as with locking tuners. If your guitar is well set up, particularly for Gilmour-style trem work, the vintage tuners will hold your tune pretty well.
