I recently came upon the Yngwie Malmsteen YJM Fury STK-S10 Pickups by Seymour Duncan and instantly fell in love with the tone. After hearing a few videos of both clean and distorted tone, i came to a quesion. I play a Mahogany Standard Strat with a Rosewood fingerboard. A set of three (Bridge, Middle, Neck) pickups run about 235$ plus shipping on eBay which is amazing! As well as these pickups sound on clean, and high gain, will they be able to handle metallica, and other rock & hard rock tunes ? I assume they would.

Wow, newer pickups for him. Sure sounds like these will do what your asking them to do!

YES, THEY DO!

Here's the quote from SD's official website:

Quote:
Hum-canceling single-coil-sized pickup based on our original Stack® pickup design. Recommended for rock, neo-classical, shred, hard rock, power metal, and heavy metal.

The bridge pickup is hotter than the middle & neck pickups. Seymour Duncan describes the bridge unit as aggressive (I think more HS3-like).

Quote:
The bridge pickup is aggressive and handles Yngwie's hard-hitting chordal onslaught.
