Spotted this Strat at a pawn shop in a nearby town. It is a 1995 Limited Edition American Standard Strat With Matching Painted Headstock in Surf Green. From what I have gleaned off the interwebs, these were manufactured between 1995 and 1996 in a variety of colors, with each color in production for only 2 months. Apparently, Surf Green is considered one of the more desirable colors.



As part of my due diligence, I have contacted Fender Customer Service to check the legitimacy of the serial number (N544999), still awaiting a reply. I have also looked online for comparables, but have found few. Asking prices seem to range from $800 to $1,600. The pawn shop said they had been asking $1,350, but recently reduced the price to $950.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular model in terms of current market value and overall opinions on the guitar itself? I am not interested in this as a collectible, it would be a player.

These are pretty sweet Strats. I remember when I saw these in my local music store and I'm still kicking myself for buying one. I'd saw $800-900 is a pretty fair price in my mind. They ran about $1K or so when they were brand new.

If you were show up with $900 cash in hand they might bite. I hope you get the guitar.

If guitar is in perfect shape , frets ok and sound good , even with no amp, I'll won't pay more than $900

Price seems way high to me. I wouldn't go over 700. Am strats go for around 600 used so alittle more for the painted head stock. But thats just me.
