I was out walking the dog this morning and thinking about this again and it occurred to me that I subconsciously read the question as Top 5 'Favourite' Strat Players of All Time and responded accordingly. There have been some technically outstanding guitar players over the years who have been widely lauded both within the music profession and fandom and who I would rather have my eyes pierced with hot needles than listen to for any length of time. Sorry to upset anybody but Satriani, Vai and Malmsteen I am thinking about you (I know that the first 2 don't play a Strat much nowadays but they are there for illustration purposes). I acknowledge their mastery of the craft but.............

Hi ayjaycee. Your subconscious was doing a good job. "Favourite" is always the way to go with these discussions if we want things to stay friendly. "Best" usually leads quite quickly to punch-ups and eyes pierced with hot needles, in the world of online forum debates... :lol:
