As I'm playing my American Standard Strat, sometimes when im playing a song and there are notes played closely together, on strings beside eachother, my guitar makes a weird sort of not buzzing but just an off noise, i was wondering if it could be that i have the Texas Special Pickups and each magnet has its own separate distance from the string, if so has anyone really found a good formula for how to get the right positioning of your pickup height? Just wondering, no big deal at the time, i just kinda wanna get it all fixed so i dont have to worry about it...

Help is appreciated,

Unkle

Start with Base side set at 3mm and Treble side set at 3/32 for all three pickups. This will give balance and 5 distinct tones. No bad off tones.

If you don't have a ruler try this. Use two nickles stacked the edge of the nickles should just lightly touch the bottom of the Base strings. A nickle and a dime stacked for the Treble strings. Frets are pressed down on the last one closest to the neck pickup while measuring. This method lowers the pickups a bit more that the first one does and gives a more mellow tone from the pickups.

Have fun
