ok, so i just recently bought a brand new american standard stratocaster, and i played that thing none stop for about a week, and as ive been playing it, just recently i noticed that when i go to bend the 'high e' string, it acts like it is almost fretting out, it only happens on this string and its not like im not getting it picked up by the pickups, the string just stops vibrating once i get past about a half pitch bend, which with the bluesy music i love to play that kinda puts me at a dissadvantage :(

if anyone can help me out with dignosing my problem it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Unklemark96. Sounds like the action may be too low on the E string. Try raising the saddle a little and see if this helps. Also, has your guitar been setup properly: i.e. action, intonation, pup height, etc. If you do a search for setup, you'll find tons of info.

Cheers!

Yup, I also think your E string is too low, raise the saddle up a hair.

+1

Be sure to inspect the nut and check for proper neck relief as well.

I found the problem, it was just the action of the high e string had lowered over time, I'm still thinking about buying some new Ernie Ball Cobalt Strings for it, but they aren't absolutely necessary right now... Thanks everyone for the advice...

Is this mean this string was too close from the pickups ? Too much magnetic field ?

Nope, the pickup distance was fine... I watched some videos and found out that what was actually happening was when i would bend up, the section of the string past my finger to bridge was actually fretting out... therefore, no vibration :P

My Korean Strat does that all the time. One of the saddle adjustment screws likes to slowly back out. Once you know of the existence of the issue you just monitor it and crank it back up from time to time as needed.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
