Hi Monalst

No trick to it. Run the string thu the bridge block over the nut into the corresponding tuner. Pull tight, screw down the locking knob, tune to pitch, and cut off the excess. It is not necessary to wrap the string around the post with locking tuners. Hope this helps. 8)

I recently changed to the Vintage locking tuners on my '97 California model.
Pull the strings through each peg and then, just take a small (good quality) straight slot screwdriver to hold the peg in place while you're turning the key with your winder tool. That's what the instructions said to do that I received from "Stewart MacDonalds" which is where I ordered the tuners.

Good news and bad news LOL..good news I remembered reading on a Zhefri..hope I spelled that right ..his website about plus's and the wilkeson nut that I had to go over and under..Locking Tuners are the BOMB!! quickest I ever changed strings in my life..should be mandatory on all guitars haha....however no one mentioned what to do on the Hi E string if the locker thing is stuck in the string hole...after a perplexing few minutes I got a tiny sewing needled and gently moved it ..whewwww..about had a panic there haha...Now for next odd question is there some sort of substance you should put in tuner holes so they dont stick? hope that made sense Thanks everyone again!
