I prefer lemon oil, it has kept my Standard clean & silky smooth for years. I just use a little and wipe over with a soft cloth every time I change the strings (it smells better than linseed too!)

I have a rosewood fingerboard on my acoustic and I used orangeglo, orange oil, on it last time I changed strings and it worked great.

I'm gonna try that. I've always used lemon oil, but felt there had to be something better.

first use 0000 steel wool make sure to cover your picups to prevent steel wool bits from getting in ,go with the wood grain apply light pressure then vacum off all debris.apply lemon oil with a soft tooth brush, let stay on for a few minutes then wipe off with a paper towel or cloth and your done.

Hello G12M

Right now I'm using lemon oil,
But I've used a bunch cleaners/conditioners
over the years. All seem to do a good job. :D

Linseed oils a no no, it's not a good cleaner
and imparts a film on the rosewood trapping
the filfth. After multiple applications may leave
unsightly buildup.

Cheers.
