Are you talking about my "Bad Boy" Green Super Strat?

Dear Chromeface, have you yourself tried one of these pedals?? Just wondering is they are as good as people say? Or are you going by what you have read about them, like me?

@Toppscore

Yes!

@Xhefri

Personally I never tried the SLOStortion but I saw that stomp box after watching a few demos on YouTube and other sites.

I guess this Wampler stomp box might be an excellent addition to Eric's actual gear setup! :wink:

Given the what he's been using all these years I'd wonder at all why. The company touts the use of this device with any guitar through any amp. How one would use a guitar with active electronics in a signal chain with this stomp box would be interesting to find out. Kind of costly, but interesting.

Thanks for the thoughts. Maybe another guitar.
I have committed to keeping:
the bridge with DeMarzio Super Distortion III humbucker,
the middle with the GFS 12k Stacked single coil sized pickup
and will be removing the neck Humbucker from Hell and searching
for a humbucker pickup that will work well in the neck and with the middle GFS 12k.

But, I do like your idea regarding the Lace Sensors with "humbuckers"
at both the neck and bridge positions. Sounds radical. Toppscore :)

Back in the early '90's Sam Ash did an FSR during holiday season which they called 'The 48th Street Strat" . {They having a store on 48th St in Manhattan's music district}, It had Red Lace Dually's at the neck and the bridge. Ask me how I know.......I played 'em. From that evolved what was to become known as 'The Big Apple Strat' and 'The Fat Strat'.

Too bad Eric sold the Cornish rig which came with the SLO-100s!

That was really something to see up close and personal. :wink:

I wonder how the VNs would sound with the SLOStortion. Eric used the gold Laces with the MDX and TBX circuits to achieve those searing humbucker tones.

I'm afraid the result would be less impressive with the VN/MDX/regular tone setup....

This is what I was wondering. If he has an active circuit in his guitar, seems like that could affect the way the stomp box works. I have a 1976 Gibson RD Custom with active circuits, and it does not like my stomp boxes at all. It does all kinds of weird things, but most of all it counteracts the affects of the pedals by acting like the battery is dieing, even though I know it isn't. But if I play my EC Strat or the RD through a tube amp with the pre-amp cranked up, WOW, great tones....

Agree. IMHO this stomp box is a mate for a guitar with some juicy passive pickups like those in my '57VHR Strat.[Re: products section for those]. I suppose I should add by saying that the box appears to have everything and more onboard, than the 25db Clapton circuit has to offer alone. Wampler's website is a must to have a look at. They have a most interesting product line, yet I have not found them 'up front' so to speak, in most of the guitar publications. Chromeface was the first to make me aware of them.

I must confess, I have jumped over to the "dark side" (Gibson ES-335) in my choice of no. 1 guitar, but also will say that I dearly love picking up my Deluxe AmStd and the trio of gold Laces-It has aged really well and is very reliable. I like the hotter sound of it compared to standard-type pups (CS69s disappointed me, and I have no interest in SSH). Between those two guitars I can get almost any electric sound I want, and my '71 Jazzmaster can cover anything else...Except the "bloop" of a big, fat jazzbox....which is next, and, hopefully, last.

Seems like my kind of guitar.
Let's just duplicate the formula.

By my count you could conceivably coil split those Duallys to 8 combinations in addition to the standard 3 settings given by the H-H configuration. :wink:

I purchased my 1990 Fender Stratocaster Plus Ultra two months ago.
Still working on it and a few other guitars with a variety of amps.
Just getting used to tones and matches.

So, once done and when I finish another HSH/HHH (depending upon a point of view)
I will be giving Lace Sensor humbuckers a real solid look.
Thanks for letting me know about eight combinations :shock:
