How do the original fender f tuners from a 70s strat compare to the current 70s reissue tuners? What adjustments need i need to make to a mim reissue neck to use the original f tuners

The bushings used with the re-issue "F" tuners are smaller in diameter when compared to the originals. You'll need oversized bushings to install original tuners to a MIM neck. You can find them on Ebay for around $12 to $15.

I'm not well versed on the MIMs, but the actual tuning keys from the '70s had tuning buttons that were chrome covered plastic. Carzy, I know, but that's the way they rolled back then. On a side note, I own a '79 Strat and the tuning keys work just fine.
