Interesting. Reading about the Greenheart wood as being one of the hardest woods
on Earth. It is used extensively for wet-water docks and marine-wood construction.
Wonder what Barry Bonds would have done with a Greenheart bat????
. . . . . or did not The Natural have a bat from a special tree

Hi matt3310: just doing a catch-up and saw your post. This thread's run off in unexpected directions, but putting all of that to one side...

You are not the first on this Forum to report this kind of thing with Sims Customs. Others do seem to have received their orders in the end so I'd suggest you sit tight, though I completely understand your frustration. Not responding to communication is not great business practice. Patrick Sims has sometimes posted on this website and comes across as a nice and very expert guy: I've never had dealings with him so I can't comment from experience.

One person who can is Forum user ORCRiST. He commissioned a very ambitious paint job from Patrick, a design he came up with for a Dave Murray tribute Strat:

I seem to remember ORCRiST had to wait a goodly long time for that painting to be done, but then it turned out to be very fine work and I think he felt it was worth it. More about that guitar to be found on this thread if you're interested:

Worth a read.

Cheers - C

Mr C, have you been reading what was going on in this thread and how these guys (guy) ended up getting one of my threads locked down. Their not interested in getting a guitar painted. They have an agenda and are trolls..... Brad banded them and now this guy has a new account as Nowhere Man.... Just a heads up....

Hi Jeff. I've seen the jerk behaviour on this and other threads but I certainly didn't see one of yours get locked. Streuth, that's a stupid shame, what idiots. Which thread?

Though as far as I can tell matt3310 isn't part of it, is he? I got the impression he's having a frustrating time waiting for his paint work from Sims Customs, and from what I've heard he wouldn't be the first. My understanding is that Patrick is good and above board, but very slow and not great and communicating. There was some speculation earlier on this thread that Sims might be going under, which as far as I know is incorrect.

So I just wanted to give matt3310 a bit of reassurance - I suspect his guitar will show up in due course.

Anyhow. All the best to you, Mr X.

Cheers - C

Hey Mr C, It was greenheart and shweeson whom some people think is one and the same. The thread they got locked down was: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=66568 and then they were banned due to this thread: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=68379 Now a few few days later this troll has resurfaced as "Nowhere man". People like this really make the Forum a unfriendly place......

Hi Jeff. Just doing a quick catch-up: I haven't been on here much recently and missed all that crazy stuff on both those threads. Wow, how completely obnoxious. I bet that guy spends most of his time jumping out of bushes at small children with his pants down. Not someone with normal behaviour wired into his head.

Anyway. You handled yourself perfectly as usual. At the end of it all anyone with eyes to see only comes away with even more respect for you than ever.

Keep up the good work, Jeff. You have masses of friends here: we're not going to let some silly little squirt spoil things for the rest of us.

All the best to you - C
