No, not from Fender anyway. The best noiseless "Texas Special" voiced pickup set IMO is made by Kinman and is called their "Blues" set. They are fantastic sounding pickups, super quiet and extremely well made. Expensive but worth the investment IMO.

Many people would disagree... I know lots of players who think that Fender's own Vintage Noiseless and SCN pickups sound great. I just recently played a Jimmie Vaughn Strat with VN's in it, and it sounded awesome.

I swear I must be one of the only people in the world who don't really care for the vintage noiseless pickups- the set I had in my Clapton had really piercing treble (it was a good thing the midboost on the guitar took some of the edge off).

That being said I replaced my Noiseless set on the CLapton with the set of Kinman Avn Blues pickups mentioned earlier in the thread. Those pickups have incredible definition and clarity, as well as being a little fatter sounding than the standard single coil. Side by side with the Texas Specials on my CS Strat, these win out. And as mentioned before, they are completetly free of hum. 8)

The VN sound ok to me, they just dont have the bight that i love in a fender, and to me i want them to make some noise. I play old tube amps with pedals, so i love the old noise hum!!

I also have a set of Vintage Noiseless and I have never been able to get them to sound good for me. By comparison, the Kinman set has always sounded good.

i have a set of vintage noiseless in my mim 92 strat and they work good enough for me, but i most say is not easy to get a versatil sound of these babys, if you´re looking for more output and that single coil sound you may want a set of texas special or tex-mex

Cheers

I have a set of CS 57/62 pups in my Vintage '57 American Strat, I'll play this one when I want some vintage noise, because I do like the some noise. And when I want it quiet(er), I'll play my '57 American Hot Rod Strat with the SCN's. I really do like both sets of stock pups in each strat. IMO, you really can't go wrong with either and it all comes down to personal preference.

I like the sounds I get from them alot. One problem though. I have had my Deluxe Players Strat for 4 mosnths and have had to replace a volume pot and now the tech said the neck pickup went bad and he called Fender and they have them instock.
It is under warranty but starting to wonder about Fenders quality last couple of years. Out of 7 I tried 5 had problems in the store.
I checked out some Standard Mex Strats and on almost all of the if you ran your hand down the neck you could probably cut yourself. Never notice this problem a few years ago.
