There are quite a few of us here that own more than 1 strat. Out of all the strats you own how many are 100% original the way it came from the factory. I own 4 and only 1 is original. That would be my CS Clapton.

Yes I have I even went up one size to 11's so I guess I own none as they came from the factory but I should have excluded strings.

Lost count. Seriously. Tweaked this, massaged that, buffed this, painted that, replaced this, did away with that. The old lady lets everybody know when they ask "How many now?". "Too-many!!!!" Hence forum name/handle too-many-strats.... If Fender could put EVERYTHING I want in a Strat, It'd be the size of a VW bus and 2 tons weight.

If I adjust the trussrod or the saddle heights or pickup heights does any of that count as a modification? It's not the way it came from the factory anymore.

Actually Corona California has a much different temperature and humidity than where I live so the wood may have lost or gained some moisture and expanded or contracted with temperature so it's no longer the same as it left the factory. Could be a difference measured in microns but a difference nonetheless.

Come to think of it, the guitar has changed hands at least twice since it came from the factory; once when the retailer bought it from FMIC and once more when I bought it from the retailer. That may not be a physical difference but it's at least a legal difference.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I don't see how a consumable (strings) can be considered a modification.
