I recently bought a 2006 MIM Fender Stratocaster on ebay with serial number MZ6155853. Did not know where to punch in the number on this website. Also , the rear of the of the bridge is elevated a little more than 1/8 inch and was wondering if this would hurt the guitar in the long run. Do I have to get this set up? Last thing is that what the distinguishing marks of a fake stratocaster? I did some research on line but I really wanted to hear from Fender. Thank you ver much.

Its a real MIM strat. If you post a picture of the bridge. The logo should be in a script spaghetti font, most fake fenders dont say fender on the top. Just a piece of advise if i were you i would do any business on Ebay. This coming from experience. People misrepresent the item true you can return it but its not worth the risk.

Hi cannons, congrats on the Strat. I have a '07 model. These years are generally considered good years for the Standard Strat. It's not too likely that it's a fake. Usually the fake ones have MIA stickers on them. Doesn't sound like the bridge is so off adjustment that it will cause problems. If you are brave you can do your own setup. At least do some measuring, then have someone do a setup if neccessary. Enjoy

The lift in the bridge that you have is a standard set up. It allows you to pull back a little bit on the vibrato arm. Personnally I prefer my bridges flush with the body as I am not a vobrato user.
