When fender comes out with a new strat do they usually come out with less body colors? I ask because I like the shoreline gold and they don't offer it in the american standard anymore. Any chance that color might get added later in the year?

Did you see this one? http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0141102344

Not an American standard but perhaps could be used as a platform for what you want?

Yeah I know that they offer it in those classic strats but since i grew up collecting baseball cards and always remembered the reissue cards being lame that instantly turns me off as a gimmic. Maybe that is just me. Not to mention that I would like something current in it's sound.

You are not likely to see Fender add color choices in a given year. And they usually discontinue certain colors on specific models with good reason($). In this case, (unfortunately for you) they weren't likely selling enough American Standards in this color to make it profitable to continue to offer it, which is too bad - I'm kind of partial to it myself. My very first electric was a maple-necked "Roadhouse" Strat in Shoreline Gold.

Don't be afraid of the reissues - those sounds are tried and true!

Well you could always get the strat you like and have a good shop paint it for you. I think the shoreline gold is/was a GM color.

I dont have the addresses, but I know that there are a few websites out there that sell the paints that Fender and other companies use. They are the exact colors used by manufacturers.
