Just a curiosity but I have noticed looking at the pics of the plus's that the maple necks really vary in gloss and color..is it just simply because every maple tree is different or is there more to it? Some are almost a honey color and seem to look almost vanished etc and others are really blond ..If anyone knows I would love to see an answer thanks!

The Pluses were all finished the same, it all goes down to how much sun, how many smokey bars, or even how much you sweat that gets into the finish and colors it. I have found that smokey bars do the most to darken up maple neck finishes.

Different woods and different finishes. Some finish is tinted (Classic 70s etc.) some is high gloss some is satin.
Some maple is bright some is darker.
