Post subject: I have probelem with fretboard, some kind of rust?! HELP

I bought my American Stratocaster in Serbia one and half year ago. When i was buying it, the salesman told me that the stains on the frets will disappear... But it didn't :evil: . Please i need help? Does somebody have similar problems? garantion period end for about two months and i don't know what to do... :(

Welcome to the forum.
Just polish the frets and all is good (chrome polish etc.). Use a clean cloth to wipe down the strings and frets after playing.
Use nickel strings, not steel.

that is normal for maple necks.
the sweat from your hands gets between the finish and fret material and causes a mild corrosion. I even have this at the fret ends on my hot rod under the finish. to get rid of it completely you will have to have the finish removed from the frets and polish them.
it wont damage anything, its just ugly. :lol:
