I have a Highway 1 that I have just fited with a set of Jeff Beck noiseless pickups.

HUGE improvement to the sound, but here's my problem.

I wanted to age the pickguard and knobs and switchtip to match the colour of the pickup covers which are cream.

With the knobs etc, I boiled them in coffe for a few minutes and they have come out with a great aged cream coloured look.

I tried the same with the pickguard but no change in colour.

Is the plastic on the pickguard and knobs different?

If so does anyone know where I can find a cream coloured pickguard??

Thanks

The pickgaurd is different plastic than the knobs and switch tip, also the tremolo arm tip doesn't stain either.

You should've dropped in a couple of tea bags with the coffee, that would've gave you a good looking tint.

CA Feathers-thanks for the link to the Pickguard site. I saw some things in there that I really liked. I bookmarked it.
