Talk about an under discussed guitar !!!!
The neck is extremely note worthy ! feels Custom Shop Good !!!
The pickups are DANG !!! What a very cool and unique Strat tone
I see three body pieces through the burst finish so.......

I am real suprised at the quality of build and the tone of this sweet player.
I would be a huge fan of the musician, but he can't keep his politics to himself in his music. :(

Fender Mexico really hit a huge home run with this one !!!!

Hi BB: a nice looking Strat for sure. Congrats. Hardtails are thin on the ground these days so that's a rare catch.

Care to say more about that neck? I notice the spec sheet says "60s C shape". How would you say it differs from a modern C shape?

Enjoy that Strat - C

i used to own a Robert Cray Strat and the neck was very nice, a lot thicker then other C shape Strat's. The bridge pick up is unique aiso it has flat poles while the neck and middle are standard stagger. Mine was a Violet color but it looked like dark blue to me.

Sweet score,
Compare the neck to a classic 60s, cp 60s, avri 62, SRV , am std ,
John Mayer strat, for reference if you can
Not sure if youve played some or none, just. Curious

BB...Schweet Score! I played one of these once and think the neck compares to the Classic 60's Series, what do you say BB? Enjoy that puppy!

Sorry guys I didn't get an e-mail saying anyone responded.

The neck is "C" shaped and fits my hand very much the way my 50th does, its the AMSE 50th.
I like the finish better on the R/C to be honest, Well the 50th is all maple and that makes a lot more of a difference than most people know, but the back of the neck on the cray has a nice feel to it.

Its the pickups that make this guitar ! Talk about Chime and jangle !!! even in the neck alone possition.

The guitar is very light weight and resonates well, it has stamped steel saddles like every strat should, Vintage style tuners (classy).
For a mid priced made in mexico guitar I would rate it a 9.25 against all other strats that have had a place on one of my stands.
My 50th is a 9.75 for comparison and thats just due to the modern bridge they put on an otherwise excellent copy of a 54 strat.

P.S. the neck feels a little thicker in my hand and only slightly, its one of those hard to describe things, it just feels right in my hands, the fret work is amazing !

I was blessed with finding this guitar in near to new condition as far as fret wear, it has a few minor dings.

Just wanted to do a follow up on this guitar after a few weeks of playing it.

You can't begin to imagine just how sweet a guitar this is !
It absolutely cracks me up when people ask if its made in Mexico or the U.S., you say Mexico and they sneer without ever picking it up.

These guitars are so far removed from a typical "standard" that its a real shame they were not made in the USA. only becouse its worthy of the finest guitars I've owned !

The neck feels like it was made for my hands and the pickups sound as good as anything I've owned, The only low spot for me is the missing fret, can't do my BB king thing in the key of D

BB...thanks for the follow up. I TOTALLY agree with you on the MIM! Their upper level gutiars are easily on par with US made guitars. Will it make me get rid of my US guitars? No, but they are still right up there. I don't think about the country of origin of any of my guitars unless asked, and to be honest I don't understand the snobbery of those who see MIM and won't try it. Now I can respect if someone wants to buy only American made stuff, but think they are the ones missing out on some great guitars!

Enjoy that Cray! I thought about telling you to play it like you stole it, but thought that might give you some conflict as a Bail Bondsman!
