Guys,

I have a Mexican Fat Strat with a maple neck that is constantly varying neck relief. I've had a professional tune-up job done back in December, and it was fine for a little bit, then I noticed that the strings started buzzing and farting. The amount of string buzz varies from day to day, so the only way I can explain it is changes in humidity?

Any idea how to stop it from doing that? Would getting a guitar case help at all? I keep my guitar in a gig bag when I'm not playing it. Any other tips? Could it be the rusting strings that I don't change often enough?

Would appreciate some help here.

NYC. Lots of humidity and temperature variations here. This is my first Fender Strat, I didn't notice this type of deal with the Ibanez and a Jackson that I've had.

I'm wondering if the neck relief is varying, wouldn't the tuning (or "out-of" tuning) vary right along with it?
(beyond the average regular re-tune)
I've noticed temperature to have an effect on tuning, but not to cause fret buzz.
wow...interesting...

If the neck wood is not dry ,( new guitar ) it could move very often the next 3 years. This happened on my Stratocaster Deluxe 1999. Long time before that, I learne how to do tune- up on guitar . No more luthier, guitars always perfect .

If the neck set up is not perfect , the neck can't move without buzzing. Yes the neck move with wheater but a perfect set up help to keep buzzing away. But at each season a neck setup is normal in north America.

This is a humidity issue. Somehow your guitar is being exposed to wildly varying conditions. Put it in a case with either a gun-safe dehumidifier in the case, or buy a dehumidifier for your room where you store the guitar. Get the guitar stored in an environment that stays a constant humidity for 1-2 weeks and the guitar should settle down.

Thanks for the input guys. Yes, this is a new guitar, I've had it for under a year.

I got a tuneup from a luthier in December that included a truss rod adjustment, action setting, fret filing, etc, and it sounded like a dream for about a month or two, then the buzzing came back.

I bought a hard shell guitar case yesterday along with a PlanetWaves humidipak system to keep the humidity at around 50% in side the case all the time. Will be waiting and monitoring how it goes...

Thanks
