I own a Roland VG-99 effects processor and am looking for a guitar to use with it. I like the design of the American Standard Roland Ready Strat, very clean installation of Roland pickup and controls, but I do not like the quality/playability of the American Standard guitar. I would like to get the Roland pickup only installed on an American Deluxe Strat or possibly a custom shop Eric Johnson or Mark Knopfler model. Can/will the custom shop build this instrument if ordered? If so, who do I contact to get pricing, timeframes, procedure for ordering, etc.?

I'm pretty sure that could be done. ....To get all the other info you wanted you need to ask your local Fender dealer.

The first one looks like a better choice, but permanent. The second is reversible.

Good Luck!

The VG Stratocaster has the Roland built right into it so you don't have to use any other outboard gear. But I'm sure you wouldn't want to have to go out and spend some more money on another guitar seeing you already have one.

I'm sure the custom shop will do that but keep in mind that you'll have to go to a Fender Authorzed Custom Shop dealer and not all Fender dealers are Custom Shop dealers. You can do a search on this website for the state that you live in which ones or which ones aren't Fender Custom Shop dealers. Also the Custom Shop does not deal directly with the consumer alone but you will have to go to a Custom Shop dealer exclusively.
