Many thanks for all your answers. I think it should be no problem to take the guitar apart. Unfortunately I won't see the guitar again for the next few months. It belongs to a friend of my parents and he actually had the original receipt when he bought it on 13/12/72. He paid 1280 german marks for the guitar and 100 DM for the case. Everything is still in original condition and he did not play it since 20 years or so.
I will see what I can find out the next time I see him.
Again, many thanks for all your effort. Joe

Bummer. Tease

Here's a picture from 1974 with the very first band I was in 'Visions of the Mind' with the same Strat:

Image

We played on a mobile stage 'The Showmobile' at a local park. We were doing Funkadelic and 'Funkadelic' style songs. Those kids didn't know what the heck to think!

Funkadelic had that problem.

Did you ever like Mother's Finest?

"Visions of Mind"!!! I have your first three albums :!:
Little bit of "Super Fly" meets "Isaac Hayes doing Curtis Mayfield".

Didn't "Visions of Mind" do the entire 1970s soundtrack to that
Pam Grier, Fred Williamson & Richard Roundtree movie:
"Foxy Brown Gets Shafted
" :!: :!: :!:

I think you must be thinking of 'Lakeside', they were also from my hometown of Dayton, OH http://youtu.be/G1NsMsixrFw

After disco became popular, we were faced with either playing disco or not have any gigs. Around that 'Mr G' joined us and we toured with BRICK http://youtu.be/kpr9qvuodVA. The picture below is from that tour, that's me sitting in the chair.

Here's another picture of the Strat, I keep it tuned to Eb for playing with Jimi & SRV videos.

I retired the '72 Strat & '66 Jazzmaster awhile back from gigs because there were too many people 'eyeing' them at gigs.

I still have the Torino Red '88 AmStd Strat and '98 Aqua AmStd Strat that were both brought brand new in the respective years

Image

I also brought a really nice Epi Dot 335 awhile back as well (psst, don't tell Fender)

Image

I just started attending blues jams since I moved back here to Dayton, OH, so I'll be putting together another band soon. I was trying to get the second CD mixed before my bass player passed, but he lost his battle with cancer a couple of weeks ago.
