Do you guys know Where To Buy A Neck Replacement For American Standard? I`m planning to change my rosewood neck to a maple neck, the rosewood feel is sticky and i can`t bend my strings properly, unlike the maple, it is all buffed and very fast neck.

Rosewood sticky? Sounds more like it was treated with the wrong oil. Take some lighter fluid and a clean cloth and clean the heck out of it. Then apply a light coat of lemon oil or a fret board treatment product of your choosing. Let it soak in 5 minutes than remove excess. Use a polishing motion to remove the excess.

That should remove the sticky, unless someone used the wrong type of linseed oil.

wow, tnx guys, i hope this could beat the playability of my American Tele, cause my tele`s neck is all maple and it is too fast than my rosewood neck guitars, even without sweat, my maple neck tele can shred and solo continuously without hand pain.

DO NOT USE LIGHTER FLUID......

(1st) highly flammable
(2nd) IT will dry out rosewood

If you want to clean it you can use GooGone it is citrus based and will wipe off all the crap stuck in the frets edges and in the minute surface cracks of the rosewood.
Wipe completely dry then apply Lemon Oil or better yet, I prefer to use Howard's Feed N Wax Wood Preserver. It is specific for furniture finishes and natural woods....

Like GooGone, Howard's is combustible but nowhere near the volatility of lighter fluid which only requires any spark to ignite.....

Well after 45 years of using lighter fluid and to find out now it is Flammable is a complete surprise.

Guess what 53magnatone. Goo Gone has a Naphtha in it. You know what naphtha is commonly known as - Lighter fluid. It's just Citrus oil and Naphtha. According to the Safety sheet on it. it is also flammable.

Less that 95% of Goo Gone is hydrotreated light petroleum distillate - Basically a Naphtha
1 to 10% Tripropyline Glycol Methyl Ether
1 to 10% Citrus extract blends.

Ether makes it dry faster. The rest is to cover the smell of Naphtha.

Wax is good on wood floors and furniture not on fretboards.

I never said either Goo-Gone or Howard's Feed n Wax weren't flammable , they are not as volatile as lighter fluid.

But thanks for enlightening my ignorance about the chemical makeup of all the above..
By the way are you busy in the near future... :?: :?:
I will need to consult with you in order to make sure that I'm using the correct products as I work on renovating historic Victorian's and Colonial's ......

And not as much of an expense either..
Speaking of guitars I have a neck to stain and a pick guard to finish wiring up and reinstall. 8)
