Should I hang my Strat on the wall by the neck from one of those wall hangers OR keep it in the OEM Gig Bag? I know with acoustics you should always keep it in the case when not in use but don't know the protocol for my new addition. I love the idea of having my Strat readily accessible. Whats your thoughts and why? Thanks in advance!

I agree...put them on the wall. I had kept my Gretsch Chet Atkins in it's case for many years, but left my acoustic out sitting on its stand. When I finally retired and decided to start playing the Gretsch again, the p/u covers, knobs and switches had slightly corroded....outgassing from the new case. Yuck :(
The acoustic is fine and now I have it hanging on the wall and my electric guitars in a rack :D
cheers,
Alex

Hang em on the wall. I have had all my guitars hanging on the wall for well over 15 years and never had a problem, that would include my acoustic too!

Here is a shot of em...

Putting them on the wall is great. I did that a few years ago, but you should be careful with the temp and humidity.

Its definitely NOT hanging in a humidity controlled room like at a guitar store. Just my bedroom where its cold in the winter and warm in the summer...

No, the guitars will be fine because they are outside the case.
If you feel good in the room it´s perfect for the guitars also.

Cheers,
Robin

Hard to say unless you try. I kept mine hanging on the wall all winter and by the spring the frets had sprouted and I had to had to take it into an authorized Fender service center for a heat treatment because the neck had arched, maxing out the truss rod. Now that it's summer, it's doing fine hanging on the wall, but come October it will live in its hard case until the following May in order to avoid a repeat of this spring.

Beware that the soft case is basically the same as leaving it out. The technician told me that he is convinced soft cases leach moisture out of your guitar.

In short, give it a try (hanging on the wall) - you'll probably be fine but remain vigilant for fret sprout and arching of the neck, especially when the heat comes on, and consider a hard case. It's so true that there's noting like just plucking your axe off the wall for a quick jam or a practice...

Warning ; acoustic guitars nead to be store in their case specialy expensive one made in solid wood. They need humidifier sometimes. Cheap one made in plywood , could be hang on the wall. Like my Gibson ES335, it is not cheap but it is made in plywood !

Electric solid body are like a furniture. They can stay almost anywhere

As much as I like the look of a guitar hanging on a wall, I keep my guitars in a hardshell case. I think a hardshell provides the best protection. I've always thought of a gig bag, as being primarily for transporting a guitar, but not necessarily for storage.

IMO ,solid body guitat don't need hard case protection for storage. Using hard case take half space than guitar on wall and hard case on floor.....

The guitar I play the most is hanging in the wall, the rest are in their cases. I used to hang all my guitars on the wall until a tree came crashing through my roof. Until the jerk who owns the property next door gets rid of his dead trees, most of my guitars will stay cased.
