I have a Strat in Seafoam Green, THAT was definitely a color from the early 60's

Ironically, I'm the exact opposite. I want Fender to take it back to the golden era days. Cut the BS and just offer:

w/ Maple neck, 1 ply white, 8 hole guard:
- 2TSB
- Black
- Olympic White
- Fiesta Red
- Blonde Transparent (Mary Kaye)

w/ Rosewood neck, 3 ply mint, 11 hole guard:
- 3TSB
- Oly. White
- Fiesta Red
- Sonic Blue

All these other non-traditional, Jade this, metallic that can leave. That, to me, is the American Standard. If you want crazy other colors, then you buy the Deluxe line, Custom Shop, Ultra, whatever. But the American Standard line should've stayed correct. 6 point trem, etc.

Then buy an American Vintage Stratocaster!

The American Standard is a blend of vintage and modern. American Standards use a 2-point trem with vintage bent steel saddles as opposed to the 6-screw found on the AVRIs and most Artist Signature and budget-priced Strats.

From my understanding you've suggested the above colour options for the American Vintage '57 and '62 Strats. These colours can be also applicable on the MIM Classic '50s and '60s models.

I understand that the colors and features I desire can be found elsewhere but my point is that I wish I wouldn't have to look to another Fender line to find them. See, if we progress to a point where the current Am. Standard Strat has different features than it did in the 50s, then by simple logic, those original designs become non-standard -- which to me, is counter-intuitive. A "standard" is a fixed object or concept by which other things are measured against. Why change the "standard?" No one says, "Gee, I wish I could upgrade my 1958 Strat to sound like my friend's 2008 Strat." No one compares other tones to those of modern production guitars, modern production guitars are compared to their predecessors. Thus, my grumbling is that the Am. Standard Strat should've never changed. I shouldn't have to buy an "AVRI". If I wanted newer saddles, 22 frets, flatter radius, bigger frets, cheaper tuners and a thick poly coating I'll buy the "Millennium Stratocaster" or something, but keep the Am. Standard standard. Over and out.
