Like the title says, I am wondering how much I could get for my Sambora usa neck if I were to sell it. I paid over $1000 for it a few years back but how much is the value now a days? I have seen a few sambora strats sell for various prices on ebay, one being the paisley sell for 3500 euro in spain I believe, and a 1999 sunburst small inlay Sambora sell for $2800. Any help is appreciated as I am thinking about selling my neck that I was going to use for my custom build but decided against doing for now.

thanks guys!

Here's pics of it:

Misaligned holes, No Fender decal and other issues, maybe 100 dollars. Good luck with that.

rdfnd1253, I truly feel bad for you as the above statement is indeed, accurate.

I really hope you didn't pay that much for it. For one thing Fender does not sell necks that didn't meet quality standards. There is nothing on it to prove its a USA, mim, or even a Fender. And by your description for it. It sounds like an excuse for a sloppy fake copy.

Well when I bought it, the guy had said he worked or knew someone who worked for fender and since it wasn't a perfect neck it wasn't used on a production run sambora strat. I believe it to be a real sambora strat neck being how the stamp is on the heel like my other sambora strat neck which is flawless. The only difference is, this one was an earlier production made one than the cleaner one I have.

The "misaligned holes" aren't really misaligned since the Sambora Strats had the beveled neck plate like current American Deluxt Strats.

However, the lack of any identification on the headstock and the rough looking inlays pretty much kill the value. I guess it is what it is - a Sambora neck with some flaws that should have been scrapped but someone snuck out of the factory instead.

Except the misaligned holes everybody's talking about are the holes for the locking nut, so the nut isn't perfectly centered.

Even if this is the Truth it still lacks anything that proves what it is other than the inlays.
For a grand you should have got a neck with all the markings, locking nut, tuners, and in good shape. What you have is at best a reject meant for the trash and worth about that much. Most companies fire people for taking anything out the back door. :(

Its cool if you that feel that way but why would it be meant for the trash with a slightly misaligned nut hole? I had a tech take a look at it and they said its so minute that it wouldn't even be noticed. You can see in the pics where the drill hole went slightly into the black plastic part on the truss rod adjustment area. Its not like inches or anything.....I don't even think its a cm.....its probably more like a millimeter or less. Still, even with flaws doesn't make something garbage. It has a straight neck, the frets are level, which to me is the most important part of any neck.

As for it being real, I believe the guy that sold it to me. He gave me a music store name in st louis that managed to obtain a few of these not so perfect sambora necks and they confirmed to me that they did sell a few just like the one I have. The stamp pattern and writing on the heal of the neck were the same as the one I have.

Basically this is true...but the inlays aren't that rough. I think the pics make it look worse so i will try to take better pics. I believe the finish put on the neck helped to yellow around the inlays a little but its not as noticeable as the pics make them seem to be. Also, what really leads me to believe its a real sambora neck is the black outlining around the star inlays. Out of all the fakes I have seen, all used cheap black acrylic to outline the stars where as this one has a black pearl looking outline, like my other real USA Sambora strat neck with fender markings and such.

I wish you the best and hope you can sell it for what you think it is worth. But expect potential buyers to be just as skeptical if not more than the members on this forum. Most of us don't want to offend anyone. We have broke the news to many unsuspecting buyers that the 52 Strat (or whatever) they got a killer deal on was Fake.

Hey i totally understand and didn't to come off rude if what I wrote did. I just was stating what I knew. I don't want to misrepresent the item or scam anyone....so maybe I'll just ebay it and see what people are willing to pay. I'll have it set at a buy it now offer or best offer and see how it sells. I just wanted to make sure its clear that the nut hole is slightly off but its not a huge error by any means.

Missed that; thought you were talking about the neck heel. Carry on.
