Hello all,

Just wondering: what strat bridges will an ashtray cover fit over?

MIM? MIA? Vintage spec? Modern spec?

I love the look but I'd like to know if it'll fit the vintage bridge on my MIM?

Cheers.

Ya know, this question keeps popping up and no one seems to know the answer. Mostly for strats. There's gotta be a way to know what models the ashtray will fit.

Way back they all came with covers. My 72 has one. I used to use it as an ashtray back when I smoked. It only interfered with my muting technique. It does keep the sweat off the bridge.

Well I guess I'll have to buy one to find out, then! I personally love the look, and I suppose if it doesn't fit my guitar it can just go on ebay :)

I have an '06 MIM Standard and the cover will not fit on it.

Be careful what you wish for!
I'm sure more of them got used as ashtrays for a reason. One of my four Strats has a bridge cover and I haven't put it on since 1982. I got tired of it snapping off everytime I went to palm mute near the bridge.

If you decide to get one you may be able to bend it slightly to fit .

guitargeezer cool web page. Sounds a lot like Neil Young with the vocals and the lyrics and some of the licks are also very Neil Young.
