Hello I am new to the forum and learning to play guitar. What tips or advice can you give me :?:

I have been given an old Peavey Classic amp from the 70s to use. Has anyone any experience of these old amps and any recommended settings to get the best tone from it?

Hello and welcome Puffles

There is a lot of useful information and lessons online. Have you looked at the lessons on this site? Another site that may be of interest to you is Chordie. Are you currently having guitar lessons? As some lessons by a guitar teachers may help. 8)

Welcome to the Forum. I do not have any dealings with that particular amp, but I am sure others here do.

Things to do to help learning:

Lessons
Tablature
YouTube vids
And most important--practice

Find a good teacher to be sure you will start with good habit how to play ; the hand on the neck is very important. How to pick.........
A good teacher will give some good exercice.
Good habit will make you'll learn more easely and you'll have more chance to be a very good guitar player.
